Count Us In

People of Northern Ireland – be included in the 1 billion people worldwide being counted in for helping to save our planet!

MyNI has teamed up with ‘Count Us In’ – a global community that aims to get 1 billion people to take steps to reduce carbon pollution over the next decade.

Why carbon pollution? Well, to put it simply, the carbon dioxide pollution we all help create through our daily activities is what is helping drive climate change. This pollution helps trap the heat from the sun and that means our planet is getting warmer.

For Count Us In, people power and lots of little steps adding up to big positives for the planet is the goal. But it’s not just down to you and me as Count Us In is also challenging world leaders to take action and create a global systems change.

Lots of different partners have come together to create Count Us In including TED and COP26 – the UN Climate Change Conference.

Count Us In has identified sixteen key steps that could make all the difference in tackling climate change – from cutting down on the food we waste, to walking and cycling more, as well as insulating our homes, dialling down the home heating and even wearing clothes that last instead of choosing fast fashion.

The experts that the Count Us In team has talked to from the UN Environment programme say that the sixteen steps help meet three vital criteria:

  1. they can impact our personal carbon pollution,
  2. help influence world leaders
  3. they are all achievable so that any one of us can take some action!

Let's break a world record!

Commit to take climate action and be part of the largest global effort to set the Guinness World Records Title for the most people pledging climate action in one month. Can we count you in too?
