Your Council Can Spend More on Local Services if You Recycle

It can cost your Council an EXTRA £50.00 PER TONNE to send rubbish to landfill, compared to recycling! That’s money that could be used to enhance your local area i.e. improve leisure facilities, greener parks, or better playground areas.

Councils across Northern Ireland are working hard to reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill and many have provided food caddies to encourage households to recycle food waste.

Recycling your food waste is easy – just pop in all your food scraps, peelings and leftovers into your caddy. We’ve lots of helpful tips on how to make the most of your caddy and a guide to what goes in there.

If you don’t have a caddy, you can contact your local Council.
