Race to Zero

Race To Zero

A global zero carbon race to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050!

Northern Ireland can play a big role in this shift to a decarbonised economy, and all of us can do something – big or small.

With the UK hosting the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in November this year, we have a unique opportunity to put Northern Ireland at the forefront of this change, not only to help the UK meet its net zero objective by 2050, but also to set an example for other countries to follow.

This shift to a decarbonised economy will require consideration of our choices at personal, commercial, and governmental level.  From things like purchasing and consumption habits, energy production, industry and transport, to the way our towns and cities are managed, everything must harmonise and function together collectively.

Want to know how to be part of a greener future?

Over the coming months the MyNI Team will share information with individuals, businesses and farmers showing the opportunities available for making a change! There are already things that you can do now such as consider switching to a green energy provider, adopting an energy efficient system, or applying for a renewable energy scheme.

Why not take a look at the Race to Zero website for some inspiration on how you can play your part in the green recovery and help to forge what we all want to see – a clean, sustainable, and prosperous future for our planet.
