You don’t always have to leave home to benefit from nature as we’ve found a way to bring nature straight to you!
MyNI has teamed up with mental health charity Inspire as well as the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) to create a series of mindfulness podcasts set in a range of DAERA managed country and forest parks across Northern Ireland.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2021
The podcasts which were produced for Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 combine a ranger led introduction by to each location by John Ford from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. John helpfully describes the sights and features at each location. This is then followed by a mindfulness session delivered by leading mindfulness practitioner Frank Liddy.
The beauty of the podcasts is that they provide access to nature from the comfort of your home. Or wherever you happen to be!
Country Parks featured in the podcasts
If you’ve ever fancied a guided tour of some of your favourite local beauty spots and some chill time all in one, these podcasts will take you on a journey of the following country and forest parks:
Tollymore Forest Park
Roe Valley Country Park
Peatlands Country Park
Glenariff Forest Park
Drum Manor Forest Park
Crawfordsburn Country Park
Castle Archdale Country Park
The podcasts provide a great little walking companion. They are ideal for people who want to bring the sights and sounds of nature into their own homes whilst practicing mindfulness in the process.
