Visit Peatlands Park and get into nature, let nature inspired play keep your kids entertained all year round and with facilities near by you can keep a close eye on your children from the picnic area.
The play park has two play areas. One which is recommended for children aged two and above and a section recommended for children aged eight and above.

Peatlands Park is 10,000 years in the making
Areas of Special Scientific Interest (ASSIs)
Peatlands Park is 266 hectares in size and was established in 1990. The park is managed by and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. It has been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI).
Peatlands Park is home to a particularly rich sample of the fauna and flora found in peat bogs, and proposes 16 km (10 mi) of paths to its visitors.
National Nature Reserves
Annagarriff (meaning rough bog) is a 77 hectare reserve comprising wooded drumlin hills separated by areas of regenerating cut-over bog. The only colony of Scottish wood ants in Ireland are thought to live here.
Mullenakill (meaning church on the hill) is a 22 hectare uncut remnant of a much more extensive bog which has been growing here for over 10,000 years and is around 9m deep.
Peatlands Park Walks
Take a leisurely stroll or an energetic walk along one of 5 Waymarked Routes within the park. Maps for orienteering routes are available from the Visitor Centre.
Take in the sounds of the woodlands by walking along the woodland paths.

Facilities at Peatlands Park
There is free parking and eCar charging points at Peatlands Park.
Public toilet facilities are available close to the play park, picnic area and Visitor Centre. The toilet block is open every day during normal park opening hours.
Walk off your lunch or bring supplies for the family. The park has plenty of seating areas to accommodate your picnic. Refreshment vending machines are also available in the Visitor Centre.
The park offers plenty of open space for your dogs to exercise and play in. Dogs are allowed and should be kept under control at all time. Please clean up after your dog.
The following facilities are available for users with limited mobility: Disabled toilets, free parking, mobility scooter. Motability scooters Please note: Peatlands Park is a Shopmobility Belfast Outreach Location. – You must have a Shopmobility Belfast Membership Card to use these scooters.
Close to the play park, the pond has ducks all year round. Please don’t feed them bread as this is very bad for their health.
Peatlands Park Railway
The Peatlands Park Railway only operates at weekends and public holidays during July and August.
